Who we are

GetMeThis ("we", "us") is a wishlist and gifting service run by a small team of individuals based in Pakistan. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Contact us athello@getmethis.party.

The short version

• You don't need an account. Your draft stays in your browser until you choose to share it.
• When you create a share link, we save that list so the link can be short. We also store what you send us through our forms or by email.
• We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't sell your information.

Information we collect

• When you visit the site: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address, browser details and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this to track you.
• Waitlist, contact and merchant forms: the details you enter (such as your email address, name, business name or message), plus the date and time, your browser type and the country you submitted from. The country is worked out from your IP address; we do not store the IP address itself.
• Emails you send us: your email address and whatever you include in your message.
• Shared wishlists: when you click "Get my share link", the list you built — title, your display name, event date, message and gifts — plus when it was created and last changed. Your browser keeps a random edit key so only you can change or delete the list; we store just a scrambled (hashed) copy of that key. While saving, Cloudflare checks your IP address against a short-term rate limit to stop abuse; we don't store it.

Wishlists and share links

While you build a wishlist, your draft is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. Nothing is sent to us until you click "Get my share link". Then we save the list on our servers and give you a short link such asgetmethis.party/w/Ab3xK9qz. Changes you make afterwards, in the same browser, are saved to the same link.

This means:

• Anyone who has the link can see the list, and links can be forwarded. Only share it with people you trust.
• Don't put sensitive information, such as a home address or phone number, in a list.
• You can delete a shared list and switch its link off with "Start over" (or "Load a sample list") in the browser you made it in. If you've lost access to that browser, email us with the link and we'll delete it.
• Older share links made before short links existed carry the whole list inside the link (after the #). Browsers don't send that part to us, so we never receive those lists.

Guest reservations and pledges

When a guest reserves an item or pledges toward a group gift, that choice is saved only in their own browser. We don't receive it, and neither the host nor other guests can see it. Calendar reminders are created on your device as a file you download — we don't email them. Pledges are not payments: GetMeThis does not collect or process money.

How we use your information

• Shared wishlists: to show your list to anyone who opens its link, and to let you update or delete it.
• Waitlist: to tell you when GetMeThis launches and about major updates. Every email will let you opt out.
• Contact form and emails: to reply to you.
• Merchant form: to discuss a possible partnership with you.
• Browser type and country: to spot spam and understand roughly where interest comes from.
• Site traffic: to keep the site running securely.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases are providing the service you ask for (shared wishlists), your consent (waitlist), steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement (merchant enquiries), and our legitimate interests in answering questions and keeping the service secure (contact messages, site traffic and rate limiting). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We use these service providers, who process it on our behalf:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, security, the database that stores shared wishlists and form submissions, and email forwarding.
• Google (Gmail) — the inbox that receives emails sent to our addresses.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. Retailer links on wishlists take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies.

Where your information is processed

We operate from Pakistan, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Cloudflare and Google use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA and UK.

How long we keep it

• Shared wishlists: until you delete them, or automatically 18 months after they were last changed.
• Waitlist: until you ask us to remove you, or 12 months after launch if we haven't contacted you by then.
• Contact and merchant enquiries, and emails: up to 24 months after our last conversation.
• Data in your browser: until you clear it. You can delete drafts and reservations by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Cookies and local storage

We don't set any cookies, and we don't use analytics or advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage only to save your wishlist draft, the edit key for links you've created, and your reservations. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from bots.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email hello@getmethis.party and we will respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

GetMeThis is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email us and we'll delete them.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to stored wishlists and submissions is limited to our team. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

We'll update this policy as GetMeThis grows — for example, before we launch accounts or shared reservations — and change the date above. If a change significantly affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you first.
